Brief History of Nudism and Naturism

If scientists have a study on the genetic predisposition of the common body louse, they had the approximate time that humans started to produce clothing. The louse is a parasite that feed on the human body, but can not carry it with them. The tests showed that people began to wear clothes front of 72,000 years. Since the Homo sapiens 200,000 years since, it seems that all people have been nudists for more than half of the existence of the species.

Inthe historical area, there was less social and moral issues involved with nudity in the classical period. In ancient Greece, the human body was seen as beautiful and was the subject of art. Athletes often were naked, as they share in events against each other, and the word gymnasium comes from the Greek root, Gymnos, which is naked.

Although the first nudist colony in British India was founded in 1891, it was in Germany that the nudist movement began in earnest. In the early 1900's several papers were published that supported the idea that the human body is neither sinful nor obscene. They talked about the concept of self-hate, and shame. The first nudist colony in Germany, some were opened in 1903, and grew in popularity during the 1920s. They were oppressed by the Nazi party, but never exclude altogether.

The Germans seemed to be missionaries of the nudist movement. In the 1960s German holiday on theMediterranean coast in France began nudist colonies and nude beaches and nudist resorts in popularity grew there. The movement had its early beginnings in North America in 1929, when it was a German immigrant named Kurt Barthel a colony in the United States. In the early days of the movement in America, has been associated with the nudist family values and alcohol were all banned activities.

Despite the attempt to combine high moral standards with the naturist movement, it wasmuch harassment and misunderstanding due to the prevailing social climate in the country which saw a nude sexual activity and even pornographic. In the past three decades, this has changed substantially. Naturist holidays became more frequent, and nudism lost some of its social stigma. Nudist restrictions will be relaxed and not clothing optional, and collection is frequent. Topless beaches was also popular, and the organized nudist movement was making progress in the deletion of the negativePerception of nudism.
